Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 stick butter
    chocolate chips
    chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation
    In heavy pan, melt butter and brown sugar.
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until mixture reaches 290\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Pour onto greased cookie sheet covered with the nuts.
    Spread out as thin as you can.
    Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
    When melted, spread to make icing.
    Let cool completely.
