Instant Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. white vinegar
    4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1/2 c. pickling salt
    3 to 4 onions, cut into 1/8-inch slices
    6 to 8 cucumbers, cut into 1/8-inch slices
Preparation
    Using a quart jar or plastic container, layer onions and cucumber slices.
    Pour vinegar mixture over slices.
    Cover.
    Keep in refrigerator.
    Pickles will keep for several months.
    These are similar to bread and butter pickles.
