Vanilla Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (9-inch) pie shell, baked
    1/2 c. sifted flour
    2 c. milk, scalded
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 egg yolks
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, flour and salt and blend thoroughly.
    Stir in the scalded milk.
    Cook over moderate heat until mixture thickens. Continue to cook about 2 minutes.
    Pour some of the mixture over the slightly beaten egg yolk.
    Cook for 1 minute longer.
    Add butter and vanilla.
    Cook, pour into baked pie shell and top with meringue.
    Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven.
