Tarheel Cracklin Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. corn meal
1/4 c. self-rising flour
3 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 egg
2 c. cracklins, finely chopped
Preparation

Stir all together and pour into greased cast-iron frypan.
Bake at 475\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
