Maw Maw Byar'S Apple Cobbler - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stick butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. water
1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1/2 c. shortening
1/3 c. milk
2 c. finely chopped apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Melt butter in a 13 x 9-inch pan or dish. In a saucepan, heat sugar and water until sugar melts.
Cut shortening into flour until particles are fine crumbs.
Add milk; stir with a fork only until dough leaves sides of bowl.
Turn onto a lightly floured board.
Knead until smooth.
Roll dough into a rectangle and sprinkle cinnamon over apples; then sprinkle apples over the dough.
Roll up dough like a jelly roll.
Dampen the edge of dough with water to seal.
Slice dough into 16 slices.
Pour sugar syrup over.
Bake 55 to 60 minutes.
