Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 cans (6.5 oz.) minced clams
    2 c. chopped onions
    1 c. diced celery
    1/2 c. diced carrots
    1 cube butter
    1/2 c. flour
    1 qt. half and half
    2 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 Tbsp. pepper
Preparation
    Drain clams.
    Put clam liquid over vegetables and add water to cover.
    Cook over low heat until tender.
    In another pot, melt butter.
    Add flour and half and half.
    Stir frequently until smooth and thick.
    Add to cooked vegetables.
    Add clams and spices; simmer 1/2 hour.
