Cracked Wheat Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cracked wheat
    1 c. cold water
    1 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/4 c. molasses
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
    6 to 7 c. flour
Preparation
    Soak wheat in water overnight.
    Combine milk, salt, shortening and molasses in a mixing bowl.
    Sprinkle yeast over warm water. Let stand 5 minutes.
    Stir to dissolve.
    Add soaked wheat and dissolved yeast to milk mixture.
    Add 3 cups flour and beat 2 minutes until smooth.
    Add enough remaining flour to make a stiff dough.
