Peanut Butter Crisscrosses - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1/4 c. orange juice
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. peanut butter
    1 egg
Preparation
    Measure flour, soda, baking powder and salt into sifter.
    Cream shortening and peanut butter with brown and granulated sugars until fluffy in a large bowl; beat in egg.
    Sift in flour mixture, adding alternately with orange juice and blending well to make a stiff dough.
    Chill until firm enough to handle.
    Roll dough, a teaspoonful at a time into balls; place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets; flatten, crisscross fashion with a fork.
    Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 12 minutes or until golden.
    Remove from cookie sheets.
    Cool completely on wire racks.
    (I like to use extra crunchy peanut butter in them.)
