George Washington Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. ginger
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
    3/4 c. molasses
    3/4 c. oil
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Sift first 7 ingredients together.
    Beat eggs; add sugar, molasses and oil; mix until creamy.
    Add flour mixture and cream well.
    Last, dissolve soda in boiling water and stir into mixture. Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
    Cool; cut in squares.
