Heavenly Cherry Angel Food Trifle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. angel food cake, cubed
    1 c. powdered sugar
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    8 oz. Cool Whip, thawed
    1/2 c. toasted chopped pecans (optional)
    1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Place cake cubes in large bowl. In medium bowl, combine powdered sugar and cream cheese. Beat until well blended. Fold Cool Whip into cheese mixture, then stir with pecans into cake cubes. Mix well. Spoon cake mixture into a pretty glass of crystal bowl. Spread cherry pie filling over top or layer: 1/2 cake mixture, 1/2 pie filling, 1/2 cake mixture, 1/2 pie filling. Garnish with additional Cool Whip.
