Vegetarian Swiss Steak And Gravy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 lb. tofu
    6 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1/4 tsp. cayenne
    1/2 tsp. yeast flakes *
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/4 tsp. sage
    1/4 tsp. spike (optional) *
    1 c. onions, sliced
    1 c. chopped carrots, celery or peppers
    1/4 c. flour
    1/4 c. oil
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Freeze, thaw, squeeze and cut tofu into 1/4-inch slices. Marinate tofu for 20 minutes in soy sauce, cayenne, yeast flakes, lemon juice, sage and spike.
    Dip marinated tofu in flour and brown well in 1/3 cup oil.
    Turn once.
