Easy Fruit Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. unsalted butter
    1 c. all purpose flour
    2 c. sugar, divided in half
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    pinch of salt
    1 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    ground cinnamon or nutmeg
    2 c. peaches or other fruit slices
Preparation
    Melt butter in 13 x 9 inch baking dish (glass works well). In bowl, combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt; add milk, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour batter over butter. (Do not stir.) Bring remaining 1 cup sugar, peach or other fruit slices and lemon juice to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Pour over batter. (Do not stir.) Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 40 - 45 minutes or until brown.
