Smothered Fresh Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. cooking oil
    2 medium onions, chopped fine
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    4 c. fresh corn or 3 cans whole kernel
    3/4 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1 tsp. salt to taste
Preparation
    Saute onions in oil until brown, about 10 minutes. Add 1/4 cup water and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce and simmer 20 minutes. Add 1/2 cup water and cook for 10 minutes. Add corn, water, sugar and salt. Cook for about 40 minutes. Add pepper to taste.
