Ingredients

8 c. whole milk
3 c. sugar
2 c. whipping cream
2/3 c. lemon juice
1/3 c. lime juice
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
lemon slices (optional)
lime slices (optional)
Preparation

In a very large mixing bowl, combine milk, sugar, whipping cream, lemon juice, lime juice and lemon extract; stir to dissolve sugar.
(The mixture may appear slightly curdled.)
Freeze in a 5-quart ice cream freezer and ripen ice cream according to the manufacturer's directions.
If desired, garnish with lemon and lime slices.
Makes 4 quarts.
