Creamy Broccoli Cheese Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) frozen broccoli cuts
    2 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. flour
    6 c. milk
    4 chicken bouillon cubes
    3/4 tsp. pepper
    1 (8 oz.) jar pasteurized processed cheese spread
Preparation
    In large saucepan, bring water to boil.
    Add broccoli, return to boil.
    Reduce flame.
    Cover and simmer 5 minutes.
    Turn off flame.
    Do not drain.
    Saute onion in butter until tender.
    Add flour; stir until smooth.
    Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in milk gradually.
    Add undrained broccoli and pepper. Simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Stir in cheese spread; simmer 10 minutes.
    Yields about 2 quarts.
