Spiced Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. boiling water
1 c. cut up dates
1 tsp. soda
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 c. whole walnut meats

Preparation

Pour the boiling water over the dates and soda.
Let stand. Mix together the sugar, butter, eggs, cinnamon, allspice, cloves and salt.
Add together.
Beat in the flour and walnut meats. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes, or until done to the touch. Put in a 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
