Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 celery stalk, diced
    1/2 onion, chopped
    1 carrot, diced
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1/4 tsp. celery salt
    1 tsp. chopped parsley
    1 garlic clove, chopped
    1 c. lentils
    6 c. hot chicken stock
    1/4 c. long grain rice
    salt
    pepper
Preparation
    Heat butter.
    When hot, add celery and onion; cover and cook 3 minutes over medium heat.
    Add carrot, spices and garlic; cover and continue cooking.
    Add lentils and chicken stock.
    Season well and mix.
    Bring to a boil.
    Cook soup, partially covered, 2 hours over low heat.
    Twenty minutes before soup is finished, add rice and finish cooking.
    Serve.
