K.F.C. Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. flour
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    2 c. buttermilk
    1/4 c. warm water
Preparation
    Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.
    Cut in shortening.
    Dissolve yeast in the 1/4 cup water; stir in buttermilk.
    Add to dry mix and stir until blended.
    Knead on floured board just to hold together on lightly floured surface; roll to 1/2-inch thickness.
    Cut with biscuit cutter and place on greased cookie sheet; cover and let rise 45 minutes to 1 hour. Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
