Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 c. crushed pineapple, drained
1 c. rolled oats
1 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. flour
1 c. nuts
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Mix shortening, salt and vanilla; add sugar and egg . Mix well; add flour and baking powder alternately with pineapple.
Add nuts and oats, mixing well.
Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0
for 15 to 18 minutes.
Very moist and chewy.
