Pumpkin Bread - cooking recipe

2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. shortening
3 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. pumpkin (16 oz. can)
4 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening.
Sift 2 1/2 cups flour, spice, soda, and salt together.
Add pumpkin and sugar mixture.
Add eggs 1 at a time.
Blend well after each additions.
Combine nuts and remaining flour.
Add vanilla last.
Mix well.
Pour into loaf pan. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
