Mexican Corn Bread - cooking recipe

1 c. corn meal
1/2 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1/4 c. bacon drippings or oil
2 eggs
1 large can creamed corn
1 small can jalapeno peppers, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Mix together the corn meal, soda and salt.
Mix together the milk, bacon drippings or oil, eggs and corn.
Combine both mixtures.
Mix together the peppers, onion and cheese.
Pour half the batter in greased pan and put the peppers, onion and cheese in the middle.
Pour the rest of the batter on top.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes until done.
