Kringel(Estonian Birthday Cake) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. boiling water
    1/4 c. whipping cream
    1/4 tsp. saffron
    2 pkg. yeast
    1 1/4 c. flour plus 1/2 c. for sprinkling
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1 egg yolk
    1 tsp. lemon rind, grated
    1 tsp. cardamon
    4 to 5 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. raisins
    1/3 c. diced orange peel
Preparation
    Place saffron in cup of boiling water for 20 minutes and pour through a fine sieve into a large bowl.
    Add yeast, whipping cream and 1 1/4 cups flour.
    Mix well. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of flour over the mixture and let rise.
