Party Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. yellow squash, sliced
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1/2 c. onion, minced
    1/4 c. green pepper, finely chopped
    1/2 c. pecans, chopped
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
    salt and pepper to taste
    bread or cracker crumbs
    1/4 c. butter
Preparation
    Cook squash, drain and mash.
    Add other ingredients except butter and crumbs.
    Place in 2-quart casserole; top with crumbs. Dot with butter.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
    Yield: 6 servings.
