Raised Drop Donuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. warm water
    2 pkg. yeast
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. warm milk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    4 c. flour, sifted (in all)
Preparation
    Soak warm water and yeast until dissolved.
    Combine sugar, shortening, eggs, salt, nutmeg, 2 cups sifted flour and warm milk. Beat for 2 minutes. Add yeast mixture and beat.
    Add 2 cups more of sifted flour and beat 2 more minutes.
    Cover and place in a warm spot for 45 minutes. Drop in hot oil. Take 1/2 teaspoon dough and push off spoon with another spoon.
    Roll in sugar or glaze.
