Pickle Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium cabbage (about 1 1/2 qts)
    1 large bell pepper
    1 large onion
    1/2 pt. white vinegar
    1 1/4 cups sugar
    1 tbsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp dry mustard or seed
    2 1/4 tsp turmeric (for color)
    1/2 tsp salt
Preparation
    Combine vinegar, sugar, celery seed, dry mustard (or seed), turmeric and salt and bring mixture to a boil.
    Pour mixture over the cabbage, pepper and onion.
    Let stand at least 12 hours.
