Working Woman'S Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. soft shortening
    1/2 c. milk
    3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add milk with dry ingredients. Blend.
    Pour batter into greased 8 x 8-inch cake pan.
    Top with 3 cups fresh berries, sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar and dot with 2 tablespoons butter.
    Pour 3/4 cup boiling water over berries. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until brown.
