Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 small can Angel Flake coconut
    1 c. pecans, chopped
    5 egg yolks
    5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream margarine, sugar and shortening until smooth.
    Add egg yolks and beat well.
    Combine flour and soda.
    Add to cream mixture alternating with buttermilk.
    Stir in vanilla; add nuts and coconut. Fold in egg whites.
    Pour into 3 greased pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0
    for 25 minutes.
    Cool.
    Top with cream cheese frosting.
