Oatmeal Yeast Loaves - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. quick cooking oats
2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter or margarine
2 1/2 tsp. salt
2 pkg. dry yeast in warm water
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation

Combine oats and boiling water in mixing bowl.
Let stand 20 minutes.
Add sugar, butter and salt.
Stir until butter smooths. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Let stand 5 minutes.
Stir yeast mixture and 2 cups flour into oats mixture.
Gradually stir remaining flour into batter.
Knead about 5 minutes. Place in greased bowl.
Cover and let rise in warm place (about 1 hour or until double in bulk).
Punch down and divide in half.
Shape each half into loaf.
Bake each loaf at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until hollow when tapped.
