Fruit Cocktail Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (16 oz.) fruit cocktail and juice
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 egg
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients.
    Pour into an 8 x 8-inch greased pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
    Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Serve warm or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
