Italian Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. uncooked rice
    2 Tbsp. bacon fat
    3/4 lb. ground chuck beef
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/2 green pepper, chopped
    1/3 c. chopped celery
    2 c. tomatoes
    1/2 c. water
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. sugar
    dash of black pepper
Preparation
    Heat fat in a 10-inch skillet; add rice, ground beef and onion.
    Cook, stirring frequently, until meat, rice and onion are soft.
    Add green pepper and celery and cook slowly for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until rice is tender.
    Stir occasionally.
