Chicken And Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 uncooked fryer, cut for frying
    1 1/2 sticks butter or oleo
    2 envelopes onion soup mix
    2 c. rice, uncooked
    8 c. water
Preparation
    Melt oleo in 4-quart baking dish.
    Add onion soup mix and mix well.
    Place chicken in a layer on top of mixture.
    Sprinkle the rice on top of this.
    Add the water.
    Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Remove cover and brown.
    If you do not have a 4-quart casserole dish, you can halve this recipe and bake it in two 2-quart casseroles.
    Serves 10 to 12.
