Molasses Stack Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses
    3 eggs
    4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    applesauce
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until light.
    Stir in molasses.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.
    Add mixture of flour, soda and salt to cream mixture, alternating dry ingredients and milk.
    Beat after each addition.
    Grease and flour 3 (8-inch) baking pans.
    Pour 1 1/3 cups of batter into each.
    Refrigerate remaining batter.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 about 15 minutes or until done. Cool 5 minutes.
    Remove from pans.
    Repeat process with remaining batter.
    Spread applesauce between layers.
    Sprinkle top layer with powdered sugar.
