Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sliced peaches (raw)
    1/4 c. water
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    light cream
Preparation
    In saucepan, combine peaches, water and 1/2 cup of sugar. Bring to a boil.
    Keep hot.
    Beat egg, 1/2 cup of sugar and shortening until fluffy.
    Add milk.
    Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
    Spread batter in greased baking dish.
    Pour hot peaches over the batter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes or until fruit is tender.
    Serve with cream.
    Serves 6.
