Steamed Chicken With Pineapple - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 lb. frying chicken
    vegetable oil (for deep frying)
    5 slices ginger root or 1 tsp. ground ginger
    2 green onions, cut in small pieces
    3 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. dry sherry
    1 tsp. salt
    1 (8 oz.) can pineapple chunks
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    With a sharp cleaver, cut the chicken into 2-inch pieces (bone and all), or have the butcher do it.
    Heat the oil to 365\u00b0.
    Fry the chicken in it until browned; drain.
    Put chicken pieces in a bowl and the ginger root, green onion, soy sauce, sugar, sherry and salt.
    Place bowl on a rack in a pan of boiling water.
    Cover and steam for 40 minutes, or until tender.
