Mississippi Mud Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. flour
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts
    1 tsp. salt
    1 pkg. miniature marshmallows (use enough to cover cake)
    1/3 c. cocoa
Preparation
    Cream sugar; add shortening and eggs, one at a time.
    Beat by hand with spoon.
    Sift flour, cocoa and salt.
    Add to first mixture; add vanilla and nuts.
    Pour into oblong pan.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
    Spread marshmallows on cake.
    Put into oven, but remove from oven when melted.
