Granny Engle'S Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. softened butter (room temperature)
    1 2/3 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
    Add salt.
    Add flour, a little at a time.
    Then add extract.
    Mix well and bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Bake in a long loaf pan.
