Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. molasses
3 1/2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Cream shortening; add sugar and cream again. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in the molasses. Add dry ingredients alternately with hot water in which soda has been dissolved. Bake at 350\u00b0 in a 9 x 12 pan. Remove from pan. Cool. Cut in squares. Serve with whipped cream.
