Gold Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    4 egg yolks
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. milk
    2 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    sugar and cinnamon
    apples
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs, vanilla and dry ingredients alternately with milk.
    Place in a 9 x 15-inch greased pan.
    Slice apples like for pie.
    Roll in cinnamon and sugar.
    Put on dough.
    Make mixture of sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle on top. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 45 minutes.
    Very good.
