Italian Beef - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. lean, boneless beef roast
    garlic cloves
    sweet basil
    oregano
    oil
    1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
    1 beef bouillon cube
    1 c. water
    1 can beef broth
Preparation
    Cut X in top of roast.
    Put a clove of garlic in each 4 sections.
    Sprinkle with sweet basil and oregano.
    Brown in a little oil in a big heavy pan on both sides.
    When brown, add onion soup mix, beef bouillon cube, water and beef broth.
    Can add a little more water or broth, if needed.
    Simmer for 4 hours. Remove, cool and slice thin.
    Put back in broth and simmer 1 more hour.
    Cool, put in containers and freeze.
    Serve on hoagie buns. Can do 2 roasts at one time.
