French Meat Pies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. ground beef
    2 1/2 lb. ground pork
    2 to 3 medium size onions, chopped
    salt and pepper to taste
    poultry seasoning to taste
    1 pkg. (1 sleeve) Premium saltine crackers
    8 pie crusts (4 bottom and 4 top crusts)
Preparation
    Place beef, pork, onion, salt and pepper in a deep pan.
    Add water to cover meat.
    Bring to a boil.
    Cover and lower heat to simmer.
    Continue cooking for about 6 hours, making sure that there is always just enough water to cover the meat.
    After 6 hours, season to taste.
    Crush crackers and add to the meat, a little at a time, until thickened.
    Prepare pie crusts (enough for 4 pie tins). Fill with meat mixture and add top crust.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 until top crust is golden brown.
    Makes 4 large pies.
    Recipe may be cut in half.
