Wilderness-Style Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
10 c. water
apples, peeled and sliced to fill 7 quart jars

Preparation

Mix all ingredients except lemon juice and apples.
Cook at medium temperature until bubbling.
Remove from heat.
Add lemon juice.
