English Tea Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2/3 c. butter
    1 1/3 c. half and half
    1 large egg
    1/4 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Grease large baking sheet.
    Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cream of tartar.
    Blend with pastry blender or 2 knives; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Beat half and half and egg.
    Measure out and reserve 2 tablespoons.
    Add remaining egg mixture to dry ingredients with raisins.
    Mix lightly until it clings together and forms soft dough.
