Ice Water Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced cucumbers
    6 medium onions, sliced
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1 green pepper, sliced
    1 red pepper, sliced
    1/3 c. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    5 c. sugar
    3 c. white vinegar
Preparation
    Put vegetables in a Dutch oven.
    Sprinkle with salt and cover with crushed ice.
    Let stand 3 hours.
    Drain and pour vinegar solution over them after it has come to a boil.
    Keep in refrigerator in a large container/jar.
