Beef Wellington - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 lb. tenderloin
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 lb. mushrooms, finely chopped
    1 medium clove garlic, crushed
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
    1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
    1 (17 1/2 oz.) pkg. frozen puff pastry, thawed
    1 large egg
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Sprinkle beef with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper.
    Place on rack in shallow pan.
    Bake 20 minutes.
    Remove from oven.
    Cool 30 minutes.
