Pork Chops Al Maria - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 loin pork chops (1/2-inch thick)
    1/4 c. olive oil
    1 box fresh mushrooms, sliced
    1 green pepper
    1 large onion, sliced
    1 (No. 2) can plum tomatoes
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Brown chops in hot oil on both sides; transfer to a saucepan. Saute mushrooms and pepper in remaining oil; spread over chops, then saute onion.
    Add tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes.
    Pour sauce over chops; season with salt and pepper.
    Cover tightly and simmer until tender, about 30 minutes.
    Serve at once.
    Serves six.
