Cherry Topped Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. margarine
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. drained whole canned red cherries
    2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Melt the 1/4 cup margarine in a saucepan.
    Add the 1/2 cup of sugar and cook until smooth.
    Add the cherries and divide evenly into 12 well-greased large muffin tins.
