Mjadara(Lentils With Rice And Onions) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lentils
    2 c. long grain brown rice
    3 medium or 2 large onions
    1/4 c. olive oil
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    5 1/2 c. water
    dash of vinegar (optional)
Preparation
    Slice and saute onions in 5-quart pot in olive oil until slightly brown and soft.
    Wash lentils and rice in cold water and drain.
    Put all lentils and rice, salt, pepper (to taste) cinnamon and water in pot and bring to boil with high heat.
    Lower to medium/low heat.
    Cook on slow heat until well done.
    Serve with a dash of vinegar if you like a zesty touch.
