Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. white sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. molasses
    1 c. hot water
Preparation
    Cream the butter, sugar and egg together and mix well.
    Add spices, soda and salt; add flour and molasses.
    The hot water goes in last.
    Bake in a greased pan at 350\u00b0 for one hour.
