Mincemeat Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 box mincemeat
1 c. shortening
2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. soda
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation

Mix mincemeat, salt, shortening, sugar, water and cinnamon; boil 1 minute.
Add soda to mix and let cool, then pour over flour and nuts.
Mix well.
Bake in greased tube pan for 1 hour at 300\u00b0.
