Mother'S Christmas Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. oleo (Blue Bonnet)
2 1/2 c. sugar
6 eggs
4 c. plain flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 lb. English walnuts
1/2 tsp. salt
2 oz. lemon flavoring (extract)
4 oz. candied red cherries
4 oz. candied green cherries
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs.
Beat well.
Add lemon extract; mix.
Add dry ingredients; mix well.
Add nuts and fruit (candied) by hand.
Batter will be very stiff.
Spoon into a well-greased and floured tube pan.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 2 hours.
